Who should get the 2026–2027 COVID-19 vaccine
According to the CDC, an updated 2026–2027 COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all adults 18 and older. It is also recommended for children 6 months to 17 years with moderate to severe immunocompromise; for other children, talk with your pediatrician. Getting the updated vaccine matters most for people 65 and older and people with chronic health conditions.
When to get it
Fall is a good time, before winter respiratory season. If you had COVID-19 recently, you may choose to wait about three months after your infection. The COVID-19 and flu vaccines can be given at the same visit.
Which vaccines are available
Updated mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech) and a protein-based vaccine (Novavax) are available for 2026–2027. Call ahead if you want a specific type and we will check stock.
Side effects
A sore arm, tiredness, headache, muscle aches or a mild fever for a day or two are common and normal.
