When a pharmacy closes, its prescription files are usually transferred to another pharmacy — often a nearby store of the same chain or a pharmacy that bought the files. You are not stuck there. You can move your prescriptions to any pharmacy you choose, and the new pharmacy can do it for you.
Step 1: Find out where your prescriptions went
- Check for a notice. Closing stores usually post a sign on the door and mail or text patients with the name of the receiving pharmacy.
- Call the chain’s main number or use its app. Your profile will show which store now holds your prescriptions.
- Look at your last pill bottle. The prescription number and old store details help any pharmacy track the file down.
- Or skip all of that. Give us the name and address of the pharmacy that closed and we will find where your file went.
Step 2: Move them where you actually want them
You don’t have to stay with the pharmacy that received your file. Fill out our transfer form and we contact the pharmacy holding your prescriptions and your doctor, then confirm everything with you. It is free and usually done the same day.
Step 3: Avoid a gap in your medication
